Maples Rally Late in the 6th Inning
Maples were down 1-7 in the last half of the 6th inning when Dylan Furlani got the inning started where the Maples scored 6 runs. Next up to bat was Brandon Gottesman, who doubled to right center. The Males were able to score again on a dropped third strike to Aaron Van DeMark, who was able to make it to second base. This was followed by a couple errors by the South Lyon East Cougars, where the Maples were able to tie the score 7-7. The top of the 8th inning, with Nate Mulligan still on the mound, was supported by some amazing defense by Liam McDonald made three amazing defensive plays not allowing any runs to score when we had runners at third.
We saw some great pitching today from Matthew Straub, Nicky Davis and closer Nate Mulligan
Second game will start around 2:15pm with Ian Evert taking the mound.
