Seaholm Varsity Maples Battle Through Saturday Doubleheader
The Maples competed hard in both games Saturday, showing fight and strong individual performances throughout the day. Maples played Detroit Western International on Maple Field
In Game 1, Casey Goetz gave Seaholm a solid start on the mound, allowing just one run over three innings. Ian Glass, Goetz, Brandon Gottesman, and Patrick Hughes each collected a hit, while the Maples battled back to tie the game early.
Game 2 featured another strong offensive effort from Seaholm, with Dylan Furlani, Ian Evert, Casey Goetz, Brandon Gottesman, and Hughes all recording hits. Evert and Gottesman each drove in a run to keep the Maples battling late.
Matthew Strawn delivered a strong outing on the mound in Game 2, striking out five hitters over four innings.
The Maples also flashed the leather defensively, turning a double play and continuing to compete until the final out.
