Varsity Polo pulls off win against District 3 Rival
Tonight, the Seaholm Girls Water Polo team faced off against District 3 rival Grand Blanc in a district seed game. The Maples were already 2-0 in district seed games this season. The game was moving back and forth with Grand Blanc up 4 to 3 at halftime. The Maples were victorious in defeating Grand Blanc 10-8. The game would not have been won without the successful teamwork and an impressive 13 drawn kick outs against Grand Blanc.
Junior Captain Layla Stephens (#24) led the Maples with 5 goals.
Senior Captain Lauren Gregg (#15) had 2 goals, including a 5-meter penalty shot.
Junior Harper Marsh (#22), Junior Captain Sophie Layer (#9), and Freshman Corinne Stephens(#11) each had 1 goal.
The Maples would not have won without their 4th quarter comeback, scoring 5 goals in the 4th.
The Maples still have district seed games against Walled Lake and Groves this season in hopes of taking the 1 seed position at Districts.
