Seaholm Swim End of Season Banquet

The Seaholm Maples Swim & Dive Team finished in 6th place at the State Meet at Eastern Michigan University. From the beginning to the end of the season, there were many time drops in both the leagues and States. Our 9 seniors helped to make this both a memorable and successful season. We are going to miss our senior class next year.

Awards from the Banquet

From Left to Right

Collin Ratliff (’29) received the Mr. Utility Award. Collin earned his state cut this year in the 100-yard butterfly. Collin’s best time this season in the fly was 55.82. We also saw great improvements in his 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke. Collin was able to fit into anywhere in the lineup that he was needed, and we look forward to what he will do in the off-season.

Colin Bloyer (’29) received Rookie of the Year. Colin was within a half-second of the 100-yard butterfly state cut this season and even earned a spot on some of our A relays throughout the season. At the league meet, Colin swam a 24.12 in the fly leg of the 200-yard medley relay. With Colin’s work ethic, we expect even more time drops in the future.

Elliot Rijnovean (’26)  was the team’s MVP. Elliot is a multiple-time state champion. He previously set the state record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 47.10, and this year at the league meet swam a time of 46.72. At the state meet this year, he was a State Champion in both the 50-yard freestyle (20.31) and the 100-yard butterfly (47.97). Elliot was a 2-year captain and received his varsity letter all 4 years.

Finn Murray (’26) earned the O Captain, My Captain Award. Finn was a captain on the team this season, but showed leadership qualities early on in his high school swimming career. Finn finished All-State in the 100 yard breastroke with a time of 57.69. This was Finn’s second year in a row finishing top 8 in the event, and he finished in 5th this season. Finn helped to push his teammates to reach the next level. Finn received his varsity letter all 4 years.

Mikey Drelles (’26) earned the Coaches’ Award. Mikey competed in the Paralympic events all 4 years at the state meet. Not only did we see huge improvements this time with him finishing in 2nd place for both the 50 (28.20) and 100 (1:03.43)-yard freestyle, but he was always an asset to his teammates. Whether it be in a practice or at a meet, he always knew how to hype his teammates up and get them ready to race. Mikey showed some of the most determination than anyone on the team.

Wyatt Robertson (’28) earned the Most Improved Award. Wyatt, as a freshman, had zero state cuts. This year, he competed at states in both the 50 (22.64) and 100 (50.15) -yard freestyle and was a member of both our freestyle relays. His improvement was not only seen in the sprint freestyle but also in the 200-yard freestyle. Wyatt had a strong finish to the season, and we cannot wait to see what his improvement is next year with the work he will do in the offseason.

Gavin D’Allesandro (’26) earned the Grindstone Award. Gavin was a member of the state team for the past two seasons. He continued to work on the 100-yard butterfly (54.50) this season, but also helped the team by transitioning from the 200-yard Individual Medley to the 200-yard freestyle this season. Gavin, who was initially seeded 23rd in the 200-yard freestyle, finished in 13th at states with a time of 1:46.78. It was Gavin’s hard work and dedication this season that earned him this finish and also the title of captain throughout the season.
