Adding Video

Kudos can include video.  The game-winning goal, a poetry contest or the announcement of major award at an assembly are a few of the almost infinite possibilities.

Mechanism #

At the present time, Videos are inserted into the Content portion of a Kudos post via URL.

Steps to Insert Video #

  1. Video insertion is accomplished via URL (of the video).  Begin by identifying the video you want to insert and copy the URL of the video from the address bar.
    1. Common video platforms used include YouTube and Vimeo.
    2. If you have not yet done so, you need to upload the intended video to one of these services (then get the URL).
  2. Create a new Kudos.  Not sure how?  Here is a synopsis.
  3. In the Content section, include any text you want.  Add your video.  Here are the details.
    1. Click the Add Media button.
      • On a computer, you will see “Insert from URL” on the left site.
      • On a mobile device, click the Menu link at the top.  You will then see “Insert from URL.”
    2. Paste your video’s URL in the top box where you see “https://.”
      • The box below for Link Text is optional.  You can skip it or provide a very short title for a fallback link.
    3. Click the Insert into post blue button in the bottom right corner.
  4. You will see your video (and an embedded player) in the post content on your Kudos creation form.  You are all set.

Important Notes #

  • Videos inserted via URL can be any length.
  • Video content of any kind (including submitted via URL) is subject to the School Kudos Terms of Service.

Direct Video Upload #

We are currently developing the ability to directly upload videos to a Kudos post.  This feature will also work on Android and iOS phones, and is expected in the first quarter of 2026.
