Kudos is good news. School Kudos celebrates good news and success of students, staff, schools and alumni. To be eligible for publication on School Kudos, a post must contain some good news. Ineligible items will not be displayed. You can see examples of the latest Kudos on our Good News Feed.

Ensuring Compliance – Even in a Gray Area #
The purpose of School Kudos is to share good news in schools. Readers should have a positive experience every time they view the site because all of the content is about good things happening for students, staff and schools.
Sometimes good things are worthy of sharing even when part of the story is not good news or when the item truly falls into more of an news or update category. In most cases, you can focus on some good news and still share them. Here are some helpful examples:
- The varsity basketball team lost last night. A news story about the loss is not a valid Kudo. However, a story about last night’s loss that features some good news could be. Despite the fact that the game was not a victory, you could share the good news about 3 players who had a strong game. Here is some text that helps clear the hurdle because you are sharing Kudos of 3 players who excelled.
- The Knights lost to the #1 ranked Chargers last night in overtime. Three Knights scored in double figures including Scott Heath who led all scorers in the game and set a personal record with 22 points. Will Jordan and Maxwell Barclay each scored 14.
- The director has selected the cast for the school musical. Using School Kudos to simply publish that list is not permitted. However, a story framed around the good news could be – and it could even include the cast list. Use of words like congratulations can push an item that is more informational in nature over the hump to become a Kudo. Here is the example for the musical that makes this a valid Kudos because you are sharing good news about four students in their selection and other honors.
- This cast for Grease is announced. Congratulations to seniors Anna Kincaid (Sandy), Jeff Watson (Danny), Samantha Harris (Rizzo) and Jordan Jackson (Frenchie). Each of the senior leads is a member of the Honors Choir and has participated in the musical since their freshman year. Next year, Anna will study theater at NYU and Jeff has already signed on to perform with The Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) in New York. Congratulations to these wonderful performers. Congratulations to the rest of the cast listed below and Don’t miss the show!
